VERNON DEBORD, AGED 18, DIED HERE ON SUNDAY

Five years of failing health culminated in the death Sunday of Vernon Leslie DeBord, 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. T. L. DeBord of Winterset. The boy had been critically ill for weeks.

The youth was born in this county on January 6, 1920. He is survived by his parents, and seven brothers and sisters: Mrs. Elethia Rudolph, and Sara Virginia, Catherine Louise, Barbara Jean, Harold Wayne, Phyllis Marie and Charles Russell DeBord.

Funeral services were held from the Tidrick funeral home Tuesday in charge of the Rev. J. H. Cochrane, Jr., pastor of the Baptist church. Burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery.
