Elderly Resident Had Lived in Winterset for Past 22 Years
Mrs. Willard Fenimore, a resident of Winterset for the past 22 years, died last Thursday at the home of her son, Virgil Fenimore, with whom she had made her home lately. She was 65 years of age.
Mrs. Fenimore was the former Iva Ann Moore, daughter of James Franklin and Martha Noble Moore, and was born in Putnum county, Indiana, on April 16, 1872. At the age of 3 years she came with her parents to Madison county, the family settling on a farm near Peru. After a short stay, the family moved to Mahaska county, but returned to Madison county when she was 8 years old.
In Winterset, on December 13, 1888, she was married to Willard Fenimore. They lived 14 years in the Elm Grove neighborhood, and 14 years near Pitzer beofre coming to Winterset. Mr. Fenimore died 8 years ago.
She had been a member of the Elm Grove church, and after moving to Winterset, she united with the Methodist church here under the pastorate of the Rev. M. M. Cable.
She leaves her three children: Mrs. Mabel Comp, Mrs. Irma Finney, and Virgil Fenimore, all of Winterset; a sister, Mrs. Edith McSpadden of Barnes City; a brother, Claude S. Moore, of Moline, Ill., and four grandchildren, Mrs. Bernice Heichel of Park Fall, Wisc., and Ilo Comp and Willard and Claire Finney of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Methodist church in Winterset in charge of the pastor, the Rev. M. R. Talley. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
