Page 1Death of Mrs. David Shutt
St. Charles – (Special) – Mrs. David Shutt, an aged and highly respected citizen, passed away at her home in the northwest part of town, on November 7. She had been in poor health for several months and for a number of weeks confined to her bed. Mrs. Shutt was 80 years of age and the mother of seven children, hers being the first death in the family.
She is survived by her husband, five sons, Albert of Oklahoma, Elmer of Des Moines, and George, Harry and Frank, and two daughters, Mrs. Milly Stevens of Des Moines, and Mrs. Della Crawford of Tulare, California. Other immediate relatives are four brothers, William, Riley, Alec and Frank Black, all of St. Charles, and two sisters, Mrs. Ann Collins of St. Charles, and Mrs. Nettie Steele of Kansas.
Funeral services for Mrs. Shutt were held at the M. E. church in St. Charles, Friday afternoon at two o’clock, with Rev. Carnahan in charge, and burial was in the St. Charles cemetery. Pallbearers were six of her nephews, Jessie Crawford, Ora Black, Ben Bradshaw, Wilkie Collins, Loyd Black and George Black.
