Thomas J. Faux, son of John and Jane Faux was born in county Monahan, Ireland, and died at his home in Patterson, on July 17, 1938, at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 22 days. He came to the United States at the age of 7 years, and settled in the state of Massachusetts. He lived there until he was 15 years old, coming to Iowa, he lived at Des Moines and Eagle Grove, later coming to Madison county.

He has lived in the Patterson neighborhood for 33 years. On January 18, 1895 he was married to Fannie Bishop. To this union 12 children were born, four having preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife and eight children: Melissa of California; Elmer of Rolfe; Arthur of Des Moines; Byron of Cumming; George of Winterset; Mrs. George Cooper and David and Elton of Patterson. He also leaves 33 grandchildren and five great grandchildren and a host of friends.

He was known for his happy disposition and was a good husband, a kind father and friendly neighbor.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday from the home in charge of the Rev. J. H. Machian, and burial was made in the McGinnis cemetery.
