WILLIAM C. BENTLEY DIED LAST WEEK AT 89

Veteran Resident Had Been Living in County Since 1872

William C. Bentley, long-time resident of Winterset, died at the county home on Tuesday of last week. He was 89 years of age.

Mr. Bentley was born in Elkhorn, Wisc., and at the age of 21 years was married to Margaret Baker of that community. They came to Madison county in 1872.

They were the parents of five children. Three of them and Mrs. Bentley preceded the father in death. Surviving are a son, W. E. Bentley, and a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Parkins, both of Winterset.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday from Tidrick's funeral home in charge of the Rev. L. F. Davis. Burial was made in the North River U. B. cemetery.

Services Thursday for Wm. Bentley

Funeral services for William Caleb Bently, 89 years of age, who died late Tuesday evening at the County Home will be held Thursday morning, at ten o’clock in the Tidrick’s funeral home. Rev. L. F. Davis will be in charge. Burial will be made in the McDonald Cemetery.

Mr. Bently who was a retired farmer, is survived by a son, William, and a daughter, Mrs. Parkins, both of Winterset.
