Relatives in Madison county have been notified of the death on May 10, of Mrs. J. H. Howe, former resident of Ohio township and the Ebenezer neighborhood in this county.
Mrs. Howe's death occurred at the Masonic home in Bettendorf where she resided since the death of her husband, the late "Jake" Howe, about a year ago.
Mrs. Howe was the former Eliza Rawls, and as a girl she lived in the Ebeneezer neighborhood. Her only surviving near relative is a brother, C. A. Rawls, of Plattsmouth, Neb.
Mrs. Howe was 83 years of age. She is well remembered in this community where for several years her husband was in the grocery business. After leaving, they lived at Malvern, Glenwood, and Ft. Morgan, Colo. In 1934 they returned to Glenwood to spend their declining years.
Funeral services were conducted from the Glenwood Congregational church on May 12 in charge of the Rev. Frederick W. Long. Burial was made in the Glenwood cemetery.
