Mrs. Archie Welch Dies

Mrs. Alice M. Welch, former Winterset resident, died Sunday, September 27th at the Presbyterian hospital in Chicago, Illinois after an extended illness. She was 69 years of age.

Mrs. Welch came here with her husband the late Archie Welch about thirty years ago. Several years later they moved to Cedar Rapids, where he organized the Welch-Cook-Beals Wholesale dry goods company. After the death of her husband in 1915, Mrs. Welch took over the management of the dry goods concern. She moved to Evanston, Illinois, two years ago, to reside with a son, David. In addition to the son, she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell of Minnesota.

Funeral services and burial were held in Cedar Rapids, Tuesday.
