Miss Carrie Reid, former well-known resident of Earlham, who died March 27 in Chicago, was brought to Earlham March 30 for burial in the cemetery there beside her mother.
Miss Reid was a sister of John L. Reid of Peru, and a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Reid. As a girl, and young woman, she lived near Audubon, the family moving from there to Earlham about 35 years ago. Later, Miss Reid and a sister, Emma, moved to Chicago, where they had since made their home together.
Miss Reid's death followed a long illness, she having been in failing health for a number of years. She is survived by the sister and brother already mentioned.

Thursday, March 31, 1938Carrie Crawford Reid died Sunday at Kankakee, Illinois after a long illness. She was a former Earlham resident. Funeral services conducted by Reverend Bock were held at the Welch Funeral Home here Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
Carrie Crawford Reid was born June 26, 1881 at Bradford, Illinois and died March 27, 1938 at Kankakee, Illinois. She was a daughter of David L. and Augusta B. Reid, who resided near Earlham for a number of years. Her mother passed away in March 1909. After a long and sad illness she leaves to mourn her departure a sister Emma and a brother John and other relatives and friends, who will miss her.
