WALLACE COUCH OF WINTERSET IS DEAD

Familiar Local Figure Died Sunday at County Farm

Wallace Couch, a life-long resident of Winterset, died at the Madison county farm Sunday night after a long illness. He was 60 years of age.

The deceased had long been a familiar figure in Winterset, known to practically everyone in the community. He was born here in 1877, the son of John D. and Mary Snyder. His entire life was spent in this community. He made his home for most of his life with his parents. After the death of his mother, about three years ago he went to the Madison county farm to live. A year ago, he suffered a stroke and since that time had been bedfast.

He was the last of his immediate family, his two brothers having preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today (Tuesday) from the Tidrick funeral home, in charge of the Rev. M. R. Talley of the Methodist church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
