DR. JOHN S. HASTY FORMER RESIDENT DIES

Dr. John S. Hasty of Lamar, Colorado, former Macksburg resident, died Friday March 19th in a Denver hospital, following an operation. He had been ill ten days. His body was taken to Lamar, where funeral services were held.

Dr. Hasty went to Lamar from Macksburg in 1886 and practiced there for many years. He was prominent in Pewers county Republican circles and was a former member of the Colorado house of representatives and state board of health. He leaves a wife and a sister.

It is stated that he went to [Lamar] Colorado along with Charles Goodale, Dan Cooper, Fred Berger, Peter Lynch, Bill Stafford, Fred Lee and some other Madison county people who settled at Lamar in the middle "eighties".
