Mrs. Charlotte Gratz Died Last Friday; Burial Made in Minneapolis
Mrs. Charlotte Gratz, one of Winterset's oldest citizens, died at her home here Friday at the age of 90 years.
Mrs. Gratz had been a resident of Winterset since 1921. She was born in Nashville, Tenn. on September 1, 1847. She was reared and spent most of her early life in Gallatin, Tenn.
She was married in Herman Gratz in Sioux City, Ia., where she taught school for many years. Her husband died several years ago.
Among her near surviving relatives are her son, C. F. Gratz of Minneapolis and her nephews, Dr. E. F. Powell and Joe Powell of Winterset.
Brief funeral services were held Sunday from the home of Dr. Powell in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. Mr. McCallum, pastor of the Church of Christ at Osceola, who was a former pastor here. Burial will be made at Minneapolis, Minn.
