EDMUND ARNOLD KALE

Edmund Arnold Kale, son of Jackson and Betsy Kale, was born near Urichsville, Tuscaraous (Tuscarawas) county, Ohio, on Nov. 17, 1849. He came with his parents to Iowa in the year 1854. They settled near Truro and in this community he spent his ensuing life with the exception of a few years in Nebraska.

In November 1900 he was united in marriage with Miss Tillie Lyons who preceded him in death a number of years ago.

In October of this year he went to visit relatives in Oklahoma, returning last Monday morning feeling ill. He was taken to the home of his cousins, Lula and Hester Reed where he was cared for until four days later, on Friday morning, Dec. 23, 1938, he quietly passed away at the age of 89 years, one months and six days.

He united with the Christian church many years ago.

He is survived by one brother, George of Oklahoma, several nieces and nephews, also in Oklahoma, and by many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 24, at 2 o'clock at the Kale funeral home with Rev. Clayton P. Shepard officiating. Interment was made in the Young cemetery.
