MRS. O. H. STONEMAN OF TRURO SUCCUMBS

Died Last Friday at Home of Son After Long Illness

Mrs. Orris H. Stoneman, a resident of the Truro community since 1906, died there last Friday at the home of her son, Oscar Stoneman, after two years of failing health. She was 59 years of age. (d. 4-17-1942)

Mrs. Stoneman was the former Carrie Marshall, youngest daughter of William and Hattie Marshall and was born in Booneville, Mo., on April 9, 1883. At an early age her father died and in 1894 her mother was married to Gilmore Stoneman. In 1896 she was formally adopted as his legal daughter.

On Jan. 30, 1906 in Kansas City, Mo., she was married to Oren/Orrin H. Stoneman, a nephew of her foster father. They were the parents of one son, Oscar Stoneman of Truro.

As a girl she united with the Christian church at Sedalia, Mo., later transferring her membership to the Truro Christian church.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Kale funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong of Winterset. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
