Funeral Services Were Held Oct. 25 From Anderson's Funeral Home
Funeral services were held Oct. 25 from Anderson's home for funerals for A. W.Wheaton, long-time resident of Madison county, who died at his home here Oct. 23. He was 73 years of age.
Mr. Wheaton was born in this county Nov. 9, 1868. He was reared here and as a young man went west to spend 17 years. He then returned to this county to spent the remainder of his life.
He was married to Sarah Potorff in 1888. They were the parents of six children, three dying in infancy. A few years later the mother died. He was married to Judith Judkins of Basin, Wyo. They were the parents of one daughter, Verla.
He was a member of the Four Square church in Winterset.
Mr. Wheaton is survived by four children; Mrs. Frank Otis of Silesia, Mont., Mrs. J. B. Blackburn of Cushing, Okla., J. L. Wheaton of Des Moines, and Verla Wheaton at home. He also leaves two sisters and five brothers, 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
