CHRIS HANSON DIES AT LOCAL HOSPITAL

Monroe Township Farmer, Danish by Birth, Lived Here Since 1902

Chris Hanson, a native of Denmark and a respected resident of this country since 1882, died at the Winterset hospital last Wednesday after a brief illness. He was nearly 75 years of age.

Mr. Hanson was born May 27, 1863, near Copenhagen, Denmark. Coming to the United States in 1882, he came to Madison county in 1902, settling on a farm near Peru. He was living on a farm in Monroe township at the time of his death.

In 1896 he was married to Idella Hoyt. They were the parents of two sons, Dale Randolph, now of Winterset, and Cecil Wilbur, now of Staples, Minn. Mrs. Hanson died in 1919.

In 1924 he was married to Mrs. Minnie Nelson, who survives him.

In addition to his widow, he also leaves two half-sisters, living in Denmark, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Friday from the Tidrick funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. Alfred J. Gordon of Des Moines. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
