Peru - (Special) - E. E. Griffith , died at the Winterset hospital Wednesday, Jan. 21st, and funeral services were held in Peru church Saturday afternoon conducted by the Rev. J. Howard Machlan, and burial was made in the Peru cemetery.

Funeral Services Held At Methodist Church In Peru Saturday
Miss Amy A. Griffith, lifetime resident of Madison county died last Wednesday afternoon at the Winterset hospital following several months of ill health. She was 44 years of age.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at two o’clock in the Peru Methodist church with Rev. J. H. Machlan officiating. Interment was in the Peru cemetery.
Amy Aldyth Griffith was born at Peru, Iowa May 22, 1897, the daughter of Louella Tinkham and Emery Fremont Griffith, who located in Peru during July, 892. Her mother preceded her in death in 1910.
She attended the Peru public school and spent most of her life there with the exception of a few years spent in Des Moines and Winterset. She was employed by the Winterset News as circulation manager from 1938 until 1940. She has served as Peru correspondent for many years.
In 1940 she united with the Church of Christ in Winterset. Miss Griffith was well known throughout the county and being of a friendly, cheerful disposition, had made many friends.
She is survived by her father, Dr. E. F. Griffith, one sister, Esther, both of Peru; a nephew, Robert Ray of Des Moines, one aunt, Mrs. Mary Greenman of Metzger, Ore., as well as a host of friends.
