L. Mae Strable, 87 of Prole, died of complications of a stroke Thursday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Martensdale, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Blair Chapel Cemetery in Madison County.

Mrs. Strable was born in Madison County and had lived in Prole since 1947. She was a homemaker and member of the Martensdale Senior Citizens Center.

Among survivors are a son, Frank of Prole; two daughters, Phyllis Newhouse of Marion and Sara Groh of Urbandale; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at Overton Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
