WOODS FUNERAL HELD AT TRURO

Funeral services were held May 6 from the Kale Funeral home in Truro for Mrs. Inez G. Woods of Truro, whose death occurred May 3 at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset. The Rev. Dale Lockhart conducted the services. Burial was made in the Union cemetery.

Mrs. Woods was 71 years of age. She was born near Truro Feb. 3, 1887, a daughter of William and Laura Phipps Lowe. She was married Dec. 12, 1906, to Harvey Woods. They lived on a farm near Truro, then moved to Clarke county, where they lived until moving into Truro.

She and her husband operated the telephone office in Truro from 1924 until his death in 1942. She continued as a telephone operator until her health failed in 1951.

She had united with the Union Methodist church early in life.

Surviving are her son, Charles R. Woods; a grandson; and two brothers, James Lowe of Allerton and Harry Lowe of Valentine, Nebr.

Mrs. Inez Woods

Inez Glen Woods, daughter of William and Laura Phipps Lowe, was born near Truro on Feb. 3, 1887 and passed away at the Memorial hospital in Winterset May 3, 1958 at the age of 71 years, 3 months and one day.

She grew to womanhood on a farm near Truro and was married to Harvey Woods on Dec. 12, 1906 and lived on a farm near her parents, later moving to a farm in Clarke county where they resided until moving to Truro. To this union one son, Charles Ross, was born.

She and her husband took charge of the telephone office at Truro in 1924 and she continued as telephone operator until Sept. 29, 1951, when her health failed. She united with the Union Methodist church when a girl and when her health permitted she attended church services in Truro. She had been in failing health for the past seven years.

She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Charles Ross and wife, Opal, and one grandson, Charles Duane, and two brothers, James Lowe of Allerton and Harry Lowe of Valentine, Nebr. Her parents, one brother and a sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Kale Funeral home in Truro conducted by the Rev. Dale Lockart and interment was in the Union cemetery.
