Death of Mrs. William H. Queen

Mrs. William H. Queen, former Madison county resident, died Sunday May 17th at her home near Clyde, Kansas, at the age of 83 years. The body was brought back to Winterset and the Rev. H. L. Olmstead conducted her funeral services at the Ramsey-Richards Funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. (d. May 17, 1936)

Mrs. Queen who was the former Susan Ross, daughter of Cunningham and Mary Jane Ross was born August 29, 1852 in Claremont county, Ohio. The family moved to Illinois in 1855 and came on to Madison county in 1859. Here she was married to Mr. Queen, December 19, 1872 and three children were born to them. The Queens moved to Kansas in 1878 and have since made that place their home.

She is survived by her three children; Arthur of Clyde, Kansas, Ross of Kansas City, Mo., and Edythe B. Matheny of Douglas, Kansas. She also leaves one brother, P. C. Ross of Fowler, Colorado and five grandchildren.
