John Lester Nichols, a 50-year-old member of the Mac Lake community, died Monday, August 4, 1975 at his home.
Mr. Nichols was born November 25, 1915 at Peru, Iowa, then moved to Mac lake in September, 1947. He served in the Italian and African theaters of operations during the Second World War. He was married to Victoria Hort on August 12, 1948 in Spooner, Iowa.
Besides his wife, Mr. Nichols is survived by two sons; Thomas of Mellen, Iowa and Michael of Hartford, Iowa; also a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Linda) Magnus of Tregon, Iowa and one grandchild.
Funeral services for Mr. Nichols were conducted Wednesday, August 6, 1975 at 2 p.m. from the Dahl Funeral Home in Spooner, the Rev. Fr. Robert Szyma officiating. Burial was made at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spooner.
