SERVICES FOR FORMER RESIDENT

Funeral services were held in St. Joseph, Missouri Saturday, May 25th, for Mrs. Edith Frakes. Mrs. Frakes recently celebrated her 94th birthday.

She was born in Winterset in the stone house on South 4th Avenue, the daughter of S. W. and Mary Bishop Strong. She moved with her parents to Dekalb, Missouri, when she was 4 years old and made her home there with the exception of a short time in Oklahoma. In 1962 she moved to St. Joseph, Missouri.

Mrs. Frakes had served as Republican Committee woman for sixteen years, was a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge, a 50 years member of the DeKalb Rebecca Lodge and a member of the King Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, two daughters, a brother, Ernest of DeKalb, a sister, Mrs. Hazel Hoot of Central City, Iowa and a brother Arthur Strong of Winterset. She was a niece of the late Abe and Cain Bishop.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Strong, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Macumber and Miss Mary Jane Strong attended the services.
