Floy Blanche Edington was born October 8, 1891 in Madison county. She was the youngest child of A. B. and Nancy Edington. When she was three years of age she suffered the loss of her mother. Her father preceded her in death three years ago.
Her childhood life was spent in the neighborhood of the West Branch church where she attended Sunday school and Church and accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour. She united with the West Branch church in 1910.
She was united in marriage to Walter S. Merritt, December 20. To this union was born one child Clella Marie.
Mrs. Merritt departed from this life February 14, 1937 after being a patient sufferer for nine years.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Walter Merritt, her daughter, Clella Marie of Des Moines, one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Kirkland of Macksburg, one brother, Roy Edington of Lorimor and a host of frients and relatives.
Funeral services were held at the Macksburg Methodist church at 11 o'clock, Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. M. D. Summerbell. Burial was in the Macksburg cemetery.
