Patterson – (Special) Mrs. Jane Hardy passed away Sunday morning, December 9th at her home. Mrs. Hardy, who was eighty-three years of age, was the wife of the late William Hardy. She has been a resident of Madison county for sixty-four years and has lived for a number of years in Patterson. She was the mother of three children, a daughter, Etta who died at the age of seven years, another daughter, Mrs. Carrie Riley who lives in Grand Junction, Colorado, and I. W. Hardy of Patterson.
Funeral services were conducted from the M. E. church at Patterson Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. E. L. Patterson in charge. Burial was made in Montpelier cemetery.

Page 1, Column 3OCTOGENARIAN DIES AT PATTERSON HOME
Services for Mrs. William Hardy, 83, who died Sunday, were held Tuesday with the Rev. E. F. Patterson, pastor of the Methodist church in charge. Burial was in the Mt. Pelier cemetery. She had been a resident of Iowa since 1870.
Mrs. Hardy was the daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth Stalter, and was born at Decatur, Illinois, October 6, 1851. She was married to J. W. Hardy of Crawford township January 25, 1872. A daughter, Mrs. Carrie Riley of Grand Junction, Colorado, and a sister, Mrs. Lea Close of San Francisco, California, and a son, J. W. Hardy of Patterson, survive. She was a member of the Blair Chapel United Brethren Church.
