Page 1Death of Alvie McKinney
Alvie Cornelius McKinney, who for the past two years has made his home with his aged mother, Mrs. Arabella McKinney, at Macksburg, died November 20th, at the University hospital in Iowa City. He was 53 years old.
Mr. McKinney was born in Keokuk county, Iowa, on February 24, 1881. At the age of 6 years, he moved with his parents to Madison county, where he grew to manhood and was married. In 1913 he moved to Bethany, Missouri, then to Rapid City, South Dakota, and later to California and Arkansas.
He is survived by his mother, a daughter, Mrs. Bedonna Johnston of Creston, three brothers, Claude McKinney of Macksburg and Vern and Percy McKinney of Idaho, a sister, Ethel Palmer of Macksburg, and four nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held last Saturday in the M. E. church at Macksburg. The Rev. A. R. Weed of the West Star church, was in charge. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.
