Sudden Death of Mrs. D. B. Thrift

Mrs. D. B. Thrift of Lincoln township died very suddenly in Winterset on Monday from heart failure. Mr. and Mrs. Thrift had driven in from the farm to spend the day in town. Mr. Thrift went down town to do some trading while Mrs. Thrift visited with her sister, Mrs. Moody. She was feeling in the best of spirits and was engaged in conversation with others in the room, when she ceased to speak and her head fell forward as though falling asleep. Those in the room sprang to her assistance, but she died in an instant without speaking and apparently without knowing of the approaching attack of heart failure.

She leaves a husband and three children, Leonard and Chas. Thrift and Mrs. H. C. T. McCall.

Funeral services were held from the Baptist church Wednesday, at 10 a. m. The deceased had been a member of that church for more than 30 years.
