At her home in South township, after a lingering and distressing illness of months’ duration, Mrs. Sarah Leonard, was relieved by death on last Wednesday evening. The deceased as a noble lady, a Christian and a member in excellent standing in the W. R. C. and O. E. S., the latter having charge of the funeral. Her pallbearers were of her own selection and all members of her corps and consisted of Madams Horton, Johnson, Wood, Sayer, Bean and Siedel. Rev. Williams, of Winterset, conducted the services and a very large procession escorted the remains from the home to the M. E. church in this city and thence to the St. Charles cemetery. A useful life has passed away and the bereaved are her husband, son and daughter-in-law and a number of brothers and sisters.
The husband S. R. Leonard and the deceased were former residents of Winterset.

Mrs. S. R. Lenard died at her home in South township Wednesday, May 21st. Rev. Palmer conducted the funeral services at the M.E. church at St. Charles Friday afternoon. The remains were laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery.
