EFFIE TURNER DIED MONDAY IN ILLINOIS

Effie Turner, former Winterset school teacher, died Monday, Aug. 4, in a hospital at Urbana, Ill. Death was attributed to a heart attack. She was 82 years of age. She had been a patient at the hospital since undergoing surgery there July 2.

Miss Turner lived for many years in Winterset, teaching in the local schools. Later she taught school in Minneapolis. In recent years she had made her home at Urbana with her sister, Mrs. Rose Shaw, also formerly of Winterset. At the present time, Mrs. Shaw is also reported to be critically ill at a hospital in Champaign, Ill.

The body of Miss Turner is being returned to Winterset for burial in the local cemetery, where graveside services will be held this Friday at 2 p.m.
