Death of Robert Neal

Robert Lee Neal, a life-long resident of Madison county, died at his home southeast of Winterset on Tuesday of last week, a victim of heart disease. He was 69 years of age.

Mr. Neal was the son of Robert L. and Martha Ann Neal and was born in Union township on May 14, 1867. He was reared in that community and moved to Scott township as a young man, where he lived until his death.

He was married to Octavia Landers on March 6, 1890. She died in 1920. He was subsequently married June 15, 1922 to Lula Blair.

Mr. Neal is survived by his widow; five children, Roy Neal of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, Frank Neal of Winterset, Harry Neal of Paton, Wanda Strable of St. Charles and Lee Neal at home; a brother, William Neal of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska; and eight grandchildren. Two children, Mary and Carrie preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held last Friday from the Union Chapel church in charge of the Rev. E. L. Patterson, and burial was made in the cemetery there.
