DEATH OF J. W. LIKENS

J. W. Likens, who formerly owned and operated a store in Truro, died Monday, December 24th, in the Hollywood hospital, in Los Angeles. Mr. Likens was operated on December 14th, for cancer, but his condition could not be improved.

The deceased was engaged in the mercantile business in Truro for many years, and had many friends in this county. He sold out several years ago to C. C. Kale, and had recently been making his home in Santa Monica, California.

He is survived by his wife, their two daughters, having preceded the father in death. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Rankin, of Truro. No particulars of the funeral arrangements have been as yet received, but the body will be brought to Des Moines for burial.
