FORMER WINTERSET MINISTER KILLED

The Rev. Paul Main Fowler, of Rapid City, South Dakota, former pastor of the First Presbyterian chuch here was killed in an auto accident near his home Wednesday night, February 1st. He and two other ministers were returning from a meeting of the Presbytery during a blizzard, and when they attempted to pass a snow plow collided with a truck; Paul as he was familiarly known here and another passenger were killed, and the third was seriously injured.

The Fowlers lived in Winterset from 1927-1931, and went from here to Sioux City, then to Minneapolis, and had been in the Rapid City church for the past six years. He was 59 years of age; he and his wife, the former Estelle Sill were both graduates of Iowa state college at Ames, and he took his seminary work at the Princeton, New Jersey Theological Seminary. His first pastorate was in Winterset.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by their two daughters, Ruth Elaine Anderson of Durham, New Hampshire and Barbara Riggs of Minneapolis and two grandsons, Paul Dudley Riggs and David Rae Anderson.

Funeral and burial services were held in Minneapolis.
