JOSEPH PINCKNEY DIES AT 88 YEARS

Death Occurred Saturday at Iowa City; Services at Macksburg

Joseph L. Pinckney, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Saturday, May 3, at Iowa City, at the age of 88 years.

Mr. Pinckney was born near Macksburg on Sept. 11, 1869, a son of Joseph W. and Mary Jane Pinckney. He was a member of the Macksburg Methodist church for many years.

He was married April 20, 1900, to Jessie Maud Sherman, who preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ersie Wilson of Waterloo and Mrs. Everett Salisbury of Des Moines; two sons, Henry Pinckney of Winterset and Russell Pinckney of Des Moines; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Macksburg Methodist church conducted by Rev. S. C. Picken of Winterset. Burial was in the Moon cemetery.
