SERVICES OCTOBER 5th FOR LEOTA SPOKLEY

ST. CHARLES-funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 5th at the Methodist church in St. Charles for Leota McDaniel Spokley.

Mrs. Spokley died Oct. 3rd in Des Moines, at the age of 70 years.

The daughter of Allen and Jane McDaniel, she was born Jan. 18, 1882, near St. Charles. She was united in marriage to Vincent A. Carter on Feb. 21, 1907, and he died the following year. To this union one son, Ralph, was born.

In 1910, she moved to North Dakota, and in 1912 married Carl Spokley. To this union one daughter, Edna was born. Mr. Spokley died in 1924.

She lived in Dilworth, Minn. from 1920 to 1938, then in Elgin, Ill., with her daughter until 1950. Since that time she has made her home with her son in Des Moines.

Surviving are her two children; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Miller and Mrs. May Carter of St. Charles, and four brothers, George of St. Charles, Grant, Earl and Leonard McDaniel of Elliot, N. Dak.

Burial was made in the Blair Chapel cemetery.
