Death of J. C. Moore

James Clarence Moore, retired farmer who made his home on East Filmore street, died at the Winterset hospital on Thursday of last week. He had been in failing health for several years and could not survive an attack of pneumonia. He was 57 years of age.

Mr. Moore was the son of James and Martha Shearer Moore, and was born in Madison county on January 20, 1879.

Funeral services were held Saturday in the Peru Methodist church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. E. L. Patterson. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.

Funeral services for Clarence Moore, who died in the Winterset hospital, were held Saturday afternoon at the church here, conducted by Rev. Patterson. Burial was in the Peru Cemetery.

Mr. Moore, who was 57 years of age, spent the greater part of his life on a farm southwest of Peru. He moved to Winterset about 18 months ago where he made his home with a sister and brother, Myrtle and Herbert Moore. He was a very honest, upright man, and all who knew him were his friends. Three sisters and two brothers survive.
