Mrs. P. W. Hayden, 63-year-old Winterset woman, died at her home here Monday after an illness of two months duration.
Mrs. Hayden had spent most of her life in Madison county, having lived in Truro and Peru, before coming to Winterset. Here she was engaged for a number of years in the restaurant business.
She is survived by her husband, P. W. Hayden; a daughter, Mrs. Ray Marsh of Tucson, Arizona, four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Hayden of Truro and Mrs. Harry Denly of Lorimor and four brothers, John, Vich and Win Fields of Des Moines and Will Fields of Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in charge of the Rev. H. L. Olmstead. Burial will be made in the Peru cemetery.

Nancy Matilda Field, daughter of Austin and Catherine Field, was born July 1, 1873, in Clark county, Iowa, and departed this life at her home in Winterset, Iowa, November 2, 1936, at the age of 63 years, 4 months and 1 day. She had been confined to her bed for the past two months with a heart ailment.
On February 15, 1893, she was united in marriage to Perry Hayden. To this union one daughter was born, Mrs. Corbal Marsch of Tucson, Arizona.
She was a kind and loving wife, an affectionate mother, her kindness was known to all. For many years she and her husband were engaged in the restaurant business in Peru and Winterset. She united with the Christian church in Truro, Iowa in 1901. She was past president of the Women’s Relief Corps of Truro and also of Peru. At the time of her death she was a member of the Happy Hour club, and Auxiliary of the Women’s Relief corps.
She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, daughter, four grandchildren, Robert, Richard, Betty and Beverly Marsch, two sisters, Mrs. Charley Hayden of Truro, Mrs. Harry Denley of Lorimor, and four brothers, John F., Vash W. and Winfield of Des Moines and William of Bushnell, Nebraska, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the Ramsey-Richard Funeral home, by Rev. H. L. Olmstead at 2:00 Friday, November 6.
Interment was in the Peru cemetery.
