MRS. THOMAS COX DIED TUESDAY

Death at Home of Daughter in Panora Ended Several Weeks of Illness. Funeral Here Today.

Mrs. Thomas Cox died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jesse Coleman in Panora, Tuesday morning after an illness of several weeks duration. Mr. and Mrs. Cox moved to Panora last week to be with their daughter.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. Reece are being held this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Earlham Friends church. Interment is to be in the Earlham cemetery.

OBITUARY

Sophronia Belle Thalls, daughter of Nathaniel and Isabelle Thalls was born at Hagarstown, Indiana, April 22, 1861 and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jess Coleman, October 12, 1937 at the age of 76 years, five months and 20 days.

When a small girl she came to Iowa with her parents, where with the exception of a few years she spent her entire life.

She united with the Presbyterian church when very young.

On January 7, 1885, she was united in marriage to Thomas Cox at Dexter. At this time she joined the Friends church to which she remained faithful to the end.

To this union were born seven children, Oral Coleman of Panora; Oren Cox of Boring, Oregon, Dwight of Dexter; Roma Boyd of Ames; Greta of Des Moines; Glenn of Miller, South Dakota; and Orville.

She was a devoted wife and mother. Her main interest was in her home and family.

Besides her loving husband and children she leaves to mourn her loss; nineteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, five sisters and a host of relatives and friends.
