MRS. ALEX ADDY

Mary Frances Howell, daughter of the late Abner and Louisa Howell, was born on a farm near Cambridge, Ohio, November 10, 1856 and departed this life January 5, 1937 at her home northeast of Winterset at the age of 81 years 1 month and 26 days.

She was married to Alexander Addy, May 10, 1874. To this union were born thirteen children, seven sons and six daughters. She leaves to mourn her death her children; Thomas and Mrs. Emma Thompson of Van Meter, Charley, Guy, Clyde, Orey, Mrs. Blanche Brooker and Mrs. Hattie Hymes of Winterset; Finley of Booneville; Mrs. Leo Walters, Rapid City, South Dakota and Mrs. Greta Dowell, address unknown.

She leaves beside her children, 55 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. Also three brothers and four sisters who live in Ohio.

Mrs. Addy joined the Methodist church early in life. She attended the Jefferson church and Ladies Aid as long as her health permitted. Since her husband's death in 1917, she has made her home with her oldest son Thomas. She was a splendid woman, generous, fair minded and a real friend to her neighbors where she has lived for 55 years. She will be sadly missed by her children and all who knew her.

Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at 2:o'clock at the Jefferson church, Rev. E. A. Elliott in charge. Burial in the North River cemetery.
