REGINALD MARTIN OF WINTERSET DIES

Native of Channel Islands Had Lived Here Since 1933

Reginald Martin, a resident of Winterset since 1933, died Thursday, July 24, at his home in Winterset, during a heart attack. He was 82 years of age.

Mr. Martin was a native of the Isle of Guernsey, in the English channel, where he was born Oct. 11, 1874, a son of Thomas and Mary Martin. He was married at St. Martin's parish, Guernsey, in 1902, to Lillian M. Dowdney. They came to the United States in 1905, and both became naturalized citizens of this country.

For many years they made their home in Kansas, where Mr. Martin worked as a tailor. Following Mrs. Martin's death in 1927, he came to Winterset.

He was a member of the Episcopal church.

Surviving are two children, Mrs. Marjorie Moyer and Louis E. Martin, both of Pueblo, Colo.; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at the Winterset cemetery Saturday in charge of the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church.
