Well-Known Farmer Here Was 68 Years of Age
Lester B. Mahan, a well-known farmer in the St. Charles community for many years, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 68 years of age.
Mr. Mahan was born on a farm near Norwalk on July 11, 1890, a son of Greer and Mae Potter Mahan. He was married Feb. 21, 1912, to Augusta Wilcox of Patterson. She preceded him in death last Feb. 13.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Helen Jesse of Des Moines; a son, Edgar Mahan of Prole; six grandchildren; three great granddaughters; and a sister, Mrs. Fern Anderson of Woodward.
Funeral services were held Saturday from Richards Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Elmer D. Kraetzinger of Des Moines and the Rev. Richard G. Mohr of Winterset. Burial was made in Union Chapel cemetery.
