Lorimor-(Special)-Mrs. James H. Rogers, a resident of Madison county and Lorimor since 1864, died at her home in Lorimor January 10 at the age of 79 years.
Mary Emma Thomson was born near Tipton, Iowa, February 18, 1856, the daughter of Edmond H. and Lydia C. Thomson. In the spring of 1864 she came with her parents to Madison county, where most of her life was spent. She moved to Lorimor in 1928.
In 1871 she married to T. C. Rusk. One son was born to this union, Harry Edmond of Des Moines. In 1883 she married James H. Rogers. They were the parents of four sons and three daughters, one son, Freddie, dying in infancy.
She is survived by her husband, her sons, Harry Rusk of Des Moines, Edwin Rogers of Morgan, Minnesota, James Rogers of Lorimor and Frank Rogers of Newton; and three daughters, Mahala McMains of Lorimor, and Ruth Ann Smith and Emma Smith, both of Winterset; in addition to 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the Fellowship church, January 12th by the Rev. Edgar Thompson. Interment was made in the Hamblin cemetery.
