VAN METER MAN DIES AT WINTERSET

Death of Matz Jungman at Memorial Hospital on Jan. 1

Matz Jungman, long-time resident of the Van Meter community died last Wednesday, Jan. 1, at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset, where he had been a patient since Dec. 17. Death was attributed to complications resulting from diabetes. He had been in failing health for several years.

Mr. Jungman was 79 years of age. A native of Germany, he came to the Van Meter area as a boy, and spent the remainder of his life there. During his active years he engaged in farming and livestock buying.

He is survived by 10 sons; five daughters, 35 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers and a sister.
