BERTHA JONES OF WINTERSET DIES

Death Occurred on Tuesday Afternoon at Memorial Hospital

Bertha Jones, a life-long resident of Madison county and member of a well known family here, died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 21, at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset. She had been in failing health for several months and had been admitted to the hospital the same afternoon.

Miss Jones was 69 years of age. She was a daughter of Andrew J. and Amanda Beem Jones, who were early residents of Scott township. She was born in that community and spent her early life there, but for many years her home had been in Winterset.

She was a member of Zion church, but attended the United Presbyterian church after moving to Winterset.

She is survived by three brothers, Lloyd F. Jones and Loren D. Jones of Winterset and Raymond A. Jones of Montana, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services had not been completed as the Madisonian went to press. The body is at the Richards Funeral home.
