ELMER FRANK DOWLER

Elmer Frank Dowler, the third child of Stewart R. and Sarah Ruth Dowler, was born near Peru, Iowa, February 15, 1888 and departed this life April 24, 1937 at the age of 49 years, 2 months and 9 days.

As a young man he left the parental roof to seek his fortune in the several middle western states and while in those pursuits he met and married Miss Carrie Sexe of Jewell, Iowa. To this union were born two sons, Raymond just turning 21 years of age the 14th of May and Merlin aged 12 next July 15.

Frank, as he was more commonly called by all who knew him, was a kind and loving husband, and father and a good neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand in a worthy cause. He will be sadly missed in the community in which he has lived the past several years.

Frank did not affiliate with the church, though he with his family, attended services frequently. He had not made a profession or accepted Christ as his Saviour until two weeks ago Sunday night. At that time he asked that the Methodist pastor come and was baptized and became a Christian.

In his going he leaves to mourn his loss his faithful wife and helpmate, the two sons, his aged father, three brothers all of St. Charles, two sister, Mrs. Grace Young of Truro, Iowa and Mrs. Maud Hiatt of Peru and other relatives and friends.
