ROBERT NIBLO, Winterset

Robert E. Niblo, 76, of Winterset died April 25, 2007, at Winterset Care Center North. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 28, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery with military honors presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8142 and American Legion Post 184, both of Winterset.

Robert Niblo was born April 26, 1930, in Polk County to Dale and Edith (Roberts) Niblo and was a 1948 graduate of Winterset High School. His marriage to Betty Davis took place Aug. 20, 1950, at West Star Methodist Church in Douglas Township. He served in the United States Air Force for four years, and was a veteran of the Korean War. Robert, a lifelong farmer, was a member of the American Legion and served on the boards of Polk Producers and Farm Bureau. He also served as an elder in the Presbyterian churches of Pitzer and Earlham and was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Winterset; two sons, Steven Niblo of Winterset and Mark Niblo of Blue Springs, Mo.; a brother, Marion Niblo; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the First United Presbyterian Church of Winterset.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
