Page 6Death of P. C. Hogle
Funeral services for P. C. Hogle, former resident of Winterset, were held Sunday, September 7th, at the Methodist church on East Jefferson street, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
Mr. Hogle came to this county about 70 years ago, with the Ruby, Smith, Leinard and Price families, from Ohio, and located in the Beerbower neighborhood, west of Winterset. When a young man, Mr. Hogle taught school at the Beerbower school and also conducted church services. He went from here to Nebraska, where he lived several years, and then he moved back to southwestern Iowa, where he became a physician.
His latest home was in Des Moines and it is said that he manufactured patent medicines. He is survived by his wife and a son, Will, who is a physician in Keokuk.
