DEATH COMES TO MRS. ANNA MEASE

Long Time Resident Died Last Wednesday at Home Near Truro

Mrs. Anna Mease, a resident of Madison county for most of her long life, died at her home near Truro last Wednesday. She was 78 years of age.

Mrs. Mease was the former Anna Roberta Clifton and was born near Seymour, Iowa on April 27, 1858. When she was 7 years old, she came with her parents to Madison county, settling in the Ebenezer neighborhood southeast of Peru. On October 22, 1884, she was married to Martin C. Mease. They were the parents of five sons, two of them Oren and John, preceding her in death.

At an early age she united with the Methodist church at Ebenezer but after moving to the farm which had been home for the past 50 years, she affiliated with the Friend's church at Oak Run. After the disbandment of that church, she and her husband united with the Methodist church at Truro.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Lewis, Sylvester and Jay Mease, all of this county; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Luella Deardorf of Peru and Mrs. Olive Millard of Harvey, Iowa; and a brother, Charles Clifton of Osceola.

Funeral services were held last Friday from the Methodist church at Truro conducted by the Rev. Mr. Moore, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Rector. Burial was made in the Ebenezer cemetery.
