MRS. MINERVA TODHUNTER

Mrs. Minerva Jane Todhunter, mother of Mrs. R. C. Jones, 7-1/2 South street, died at 8:15 a.m. at the home of her daughter with whom she had been living for nine years. She had been in ill health for the past three months and her health had been failing for two years. Death was due to age debility.

Mrs. Todhunter was born May 14, 1853 near what is now Montezuma, a daughter of Pleasant and Mary Garsage Deardorff. Her parents moved to Madison county, Iowa when she was a small girl and she was married to B. S. Todhunter at Peru, October 8, 1869. They made their home in Madison county until moving to Des Moines in 1914 and they came to Marshalltown in 1920. Mr. Todhunter died here November 8, 1932.

Besides her daughter she is survived by three sons, E. R. of Arlington, C. E. of Chicago, and G. E. of Three Rivers, California; two brothers, Charley and Harley of Rifle, Colorado; a sister, Mrs. Othello Beeler of Peru and a grandson, Robert Jones of Marshalltown. A son, William, a sister, Mary Painter and a brother, Frank Deardorff preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Friends church of Marshalltown.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Estel funeral home in charge of the Rev. C. D. Byrd. Burial was made in the Ebenezer cemetery near Peru.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Minerva Todhunter Were Held Here Monday Afternoon

The body of Mrs. Minerva Todhunter of Marshalltown was brought here for burial in the Ebenezer Cemetery Monday afternoon. Mrs. Todhunter had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Edna Jones.

Rev. I. G. Wilkins officiated at the cemetery. Mrs. Todhunter who was a half sister of Mrs. Emma Beeler, was reared in the Ebenezer neighborhood and has in years past, lived with her family here, at Earlham and Des Moines.
