MRS. DORA WILEY

Dora Dean Rex, daughter of Capt. John L. and Mary Jane Rex of Lake City, Iowa was born October 18, 1868. She grew to womanhood in Cottonwood community, three miles west of Lake City. She was converted and joined the Lake City Baptist church at the age of fourteen.

In 1889 she went to Carthage, South Dakota and lived with a sister. Here she became acquainted with William B. Wiley, who she married in 1890.

The family lived at Carthage until 1894 when they returned to Lake City and three years later moved to Madison county and settled on a farm southwest of Winterset.

To this union was born six children, one of whom preceded the deceased in death at the age of six months. Those surviving are Ralph Wiley, Lincoln, Nebraska; Clarence E. Wiley, Norwalk, Iowa; Mrs. Hattie May Hicks, Winterset; Glen Wiley, St. Charles, Iowa; and Mrs. Ruth Wiley Kingery, Earlham, Iowa

Other near relatives are E. M. Rex, Letts, Iowa; Mrs. Flora Rex Jensen, Clear Lake, Iowa; and Mary Lou Gabriel, Lake City, Iowa.

Others who mourn her loss are thirteen grandchildren and a score or more of nephews and nieces.
