STROKE FATAL TO RALPH BARCROFT

Had Been Business Man in Winterset for Most of His Life

Ralph Barcroft, well-known Winterset and Madison county resident died at his home southwest of Winterset, Sunday evening, December 5th. Mr. Barcroft had been in poor health since last spring and suffered a severe stroke of apoplexy three weeks ago. He was 71 years of age, and had lived in this county since he was eighteen years of age, when he came to this county with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Kinsey Barcroft.

He owned a livery barn in Winterset for 30 years and later managed his farm. He was married to Kate Hornady forty years ago and they were the parents of three children. She died on February 4, 1922. In 1923 he was married to Miss Etta McGlothlen.

He leaves his wife and three children; George Barcroft and Mrs. William Cramlett of Los Angeles, California, and Ralph Jr. of Lorimor. He also leaves two sisters, Miss Sue Barcroft and Mrs. Alice Wilson of Alamosa, Colorado.

Funeral services for Mr. Barcroft will be conducted Wednesday Dec. 8 at 2 o'clock by Rev. W. P. Fink at Tidrick's Funeral home.
