BERT BARDRICK OF DOUGLAS IS DEAD

Prominent Stockman and Farmer Succumbs Tuesday

George Albert Bardrick, a prominent farmer and stockman of Douglas township, died Tuesday night at his home northwest of Winterset. He was 63 years of age.

Mr. Bardrick's death came about a week after a fall he received down a stairway. He had been in ill health and erysipelas developed, followed by blood poisoning.

Mr. Bardrick was a life-long resident of Madison county. He was the son of George and Rebecca Lovelace Bardrick and was born in Douglas township on May 5, 1874. He attended the Winterset schools and at the age of 20 he started farming for himself. With the exception of seven years in Lincoln township, his life was spent in Douglas.

He was married on Feb. 13, 1895 to Miss Cora Reed, who survives him. He also leaves a brother, David Bardrick and a sister, Mrs. Emma Wilson.

Mr. Bardrick was prominent in local circles of the Republican party. He held township office and was a delegate to a number of county and state conventions.

Funeral services were held Thursday from the Methodist church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. M. R. Talley. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
