GLEN ELDERKIN, 74, DIES IN DES MOINES

Glen P. Elderkin, former Madison county resident, died Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 28, in a Des Moines nursing home. He was 74 years of age.

The son of Frank B. and Emma Garretson Elderkin, he was born Dec. 17, 1883 in Winterset.

On Jan. 8, 1908 he was married to Opal Clark of this community, who survives.

For many years Mr. Elderkin farmed in Lincoln township. He had lived in Des Moines since 1942.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Frank Elderkin of Winterset and John D. of Vinton, Ia.; four daughters, Florence Peterson of Red Oak, Ia., Dawn Breuck of Battle Creek, Ia., Marguerite Holley of Nevada, Ia. and Mary Newton of Des Moines.

The Rev. Tom Foglesong of Des Moines, former pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ, will conduct his funeral services, at the Richards Funeral home, Friday, January 31st at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the Winterset cemetery.
